Shipping & Ordering

Gift Notes? Sure thing!
Look for a section titled "Add a Gift Note" in your Cart where you can enter a note for the recipient that will be printed on the order's packing slip.
Whether you add a gift note or not, all orders ship with a packing slip only - so the recipient will never see the cost of their gift.
The short answer: In most cases, unfortunately not.
Once an order has been pulled into our shipping system (usually within 10-15 minutes after it's placed), it's often no longer possible for us to cancel it or make any changes to it. Even though you may not receive a shipment notification or tracking number until the next business day, once the order has been entered into the fulfillment queue there's little we can do to stop or modify it.
"But, I emailed you 1 minute after I placed my order, how can that be too late?!"
Please keep in mind that we're a small business (and human) and that means we don't always see your e-mails or messages the moment you send them!
If you need an immediate change to your order, please email us right away and include "URGENT - Order Change/Cancel" in the subject line, and if there's any way we can still modify or stop your order from shipping we'll do whatever we can to help.
When an item is available for Pre Order you'll find a note on the product page that details the estimated ship time.
Please note that the expected shipping time is an estimate based on when we expect to receive new inventory.
Sometimes it takes us even longer than expected to receive inventory and we need to push the date out further, and sometimes we receive inventory much sooner. You have our promise that your order will always ship as soon as the inventory is in our hands!
Step One: Let us know about it ASAP!
Here's what you should know & do next:
In a lot of cases, when a package is accidentally marked as delivered there's still a good chance it will show up within a day or two.
Occasionally, a shipping carrier will accidentally scan a package as delivered before it's actually been dropped off at your address.
We always recommend immediately contacting the carrier to report the missing package ASAP. They may be able to provide more insight into whether your package was actually delivered, or incorrectly scanned.
If you have any reason to think your package was stolen after it was delivered properly, you'll want to file a stolen package report and may need to contact your local police/authorities to do so.
It also may seem obvious, but please be sure to check other areas around your house where the package could have been dropped off like side entrances, bushes, under stairs, garage area, etc. Also, check with neighbors to see if the package could have accidentally ended with them - it happens often!
One way or the other, please contact us ASAP to let us know about your missing delivery. We'll do what we can to help!

If you placed an order and the discount code wasn't applied, contact us and we'd be happy to look into the issue for you.
Did you try to apply a code and it didn't work? Some products may be excluded from discounts so there may be a valid reason that the discount wasn't applied.
If a discount should have been applied to your order don't worry - just get in touch within a reasonable time after you place your order and we'll always make sure that you're refunded for the amount you would have saved!
Yes, we offer both a Pro Deal discount for active Outdoor Industry employees, as well as discounts for active Military members and more.
If you're an active member of the U.S. Military, an active duty Police Officer or Firefighter, Doctor, Nurse, EMS or a Peace Corps Volunteer, you have our support and our gratitude. You've also earned yourself a sweet discount!
To get your discount code we'll need verification of your enlistment so just send us an email with any method of verifying your service/employment that we can rely on (a copy of your Military/Police/Fire ID, PCV acceptance letter, pay stub, etc.) and we'll get back to you with a coupon of thanks.
Unfortunately, we can no longer offer local pickup.
If ordering online isn't an option for you - we highly recommend checking our Store Locator to see if there's a shop near you that carries our products. Keep in mind, most of our retailers are small boutiques and may only carry a small selection of our full product line.

We do our best to get every item and every shipment delivered to you perfectly, but mistakes happen.
If any item in your order is missing, damaged, or incorrect, just contact us immediately and we'll help you out.
If your issue involves damage to your package or items, please include any photos that will be helpful to our team so we can help you out quickly.
Returns are sent to our fulfillment center and all packages need to be opened and manually inspected for damage, missing items, etc. which can take some time to process.
While we always aim to inspect and process returns quickly, it may take up to 10 business days after we receive your returned item for a refund to be processed. You'll receive an email confirmation as soon as your return has been processed.
If you are exchanging an item, we will still need the time to inspect and verify the receipt of your returned item before we can send you a replacement item.
Product Care & Safety
See our full guide to Care & Cleaning For Your Handwoven Blanket here.
See our full guide to Care & Cleaning For Hammocks, Packs & Totes here.
You can find our full Care & Cleaning - General Guide here.
If you see gaps in the threads of your blanket, even when it's brand new, don't fret!
Think of your handwoven blanket as a big grid - you've got threads going horizontally and threads going vertically, and they slide along each other. The threads of your blanket can sometimes get pushed and pulled a bit along that grid, and it gives the appearance of a hole or defect in your blanket - it's not!
To fix the issue, just apply a little pressure with your fingers to spread and move the threads closer to each other along that grid.
For maximum effect, we recommend saying some magic words as you do it, like "Abracadabra" or "Snuffleupagus!" - because you're going to feel like a magician when that hole magically disappears before your eyes.
Here's a video showing just how easy it is: How To Fix Separated Blanket Threads
You'll also notice that our blankets that feature curved or circular artwork will typically have some thread spacing around the curved parts of the design. The separation around the curves is a normal part of the traditional weaving process and, like the gaps described above, they don't affect the integrity of your blanket.
If you don't like the way it looks, just follow the above process and you can easily push the threads closer together to make the gap disappear. Magically, of course.
Hammock Safety For Adults
You made it this far in life, you probably feel like you can hammock without getting hurt right?
Well, let's have a little Safety Meeting anyways.
Always test your hanging points for stability and strength before getting in your hammock.
Most people think about getting hurt falling out of a hammock, but don't consider what happens if the object you're hanging from falls on YOU.
Checking trees and other structures to make sure they're strong enough to support you is absolutely crucial before using your hammock.
Always check your hammock and hanging equipment for tears, holes, fraying, signs of UV fading/weakness, etc.
If you see a hole, patch it. If you have weakened or damaged equipment, replace it. (If you believe it's a warranty issue, just get in touch so we can help)
Never set up your hammock at a height above 2', or above any dangerous objects or terrain, where a fall or malfunction could cause injury to you, or the people around you.
Equipment, even brand-new equipment, can fail.
Trees or structures that appear sturdy are not always what they seem.
Be smart and always think about your safety first.
Safety first. And have fun.
Hammock Safety For Kids
Kids love hammocks! And Trek Light Hammocks are designed to eliminate the safety concerns found in many other hammocks.
The solid parachute nylon design means that you'll never have to worry about your little ones getting an arm, leg, or neck caught in the hammock.
And Trek Light Hammocks have an amazing No-Flip design - no need to worry about kids (or adults) getting violently dumped out on the ground while using it.
Even though the hammock is designed to be as safe as possible, kids and infants can always find a way to add danger to the safest of activities.
Kids of any age can still manage to climb up and over the sides of the hammock, or will purposely swing the hammock upside down (you'll see) and wind up falling out to the ground if they're not careful.
Trek Light hammocks are not tested, sold, or intended for use as baby or infant products, and Trek Light recommends that you never leave any young children or infants unsupervised for any amount of time in a hammock.
Make sure to follow our adult safety rules above - always hang your hammock low to the ground to minimize the risk of any injury, and always make sure the hammock is hung from objects capable of supporting any bouncing or playing that might occur.
With proper adult supervision and use, your Trek Light Hammock can be an extremely safe experience for children of any age!
While it's nice to have your hammock set up fu-l time in the yard, or a blanket that sits outside waiting for you - we strongly recommend not leaving any of your Trek Light products outdoors or exposed to sun full-time when not in use.
UV Rays are often known as 'gear-killers' - excessive prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will eventually cause the colors of our products to fade. By the time you're seeing the color fading, it means the UV rays have also begun to weaken the material it's made of.
The same goes for weather elements like rain & snow. While most of our products are built to hold up to the elements - leaving them outdoors full-time will still shorten their lifespan significantly. If your product gets wet - there's no need to worry, but you should always do what you can to let them dry out properly and not sit outside covered in snow or water.
While we offer an incredible Lifetime Warranty & Happiness Guarantee against any manufacturer's defects or issues, leaving your products out in the sun to the point that the colors become noticeably faded will void your warranty - so please do what you can to use your gear properly so it will last you many years of happiness.
Remember, the warnings above only apply to leaving your products out all day repeatedly in the sun - you definitely should never worry about using your Trek Light products in the sun - sunny days are what we're made for!

Short answer - YES!
Back in the day, we used to sell a variety of hammock sizes.
Well, let's be more specific - we used to offer a variety of hammock sizes, but when you looked at our sales reports, there was only one hammock customers were coming back for over and over again - the Double Hammock.
Our Double Hammock is the best all-around hammock on the planet for a reason, and it's not because everyone is always hammocking with a friend.
Big Enough For Two, Perfect For You
While our Double Hammocks are plenty big enough for two people to share, they're designed to cradle and conform to your body size - so whether you're large, small, tiny, or perfect-sized the hammock will always feel like it's made just for you.
But here's the most important reason...
The Most Important Reason
If you check out our Sleeping In A Hammock Guide, you'll learn that the most comfortable way to lie in a hammock is actually at a slight angle across.
The extra width of the Double is what allows you to align your body at an angle to get that healthy & nearly flat zero-gravity position you're after - and that's why we mean it when we say the Double Hammock is the most comfortable hammock on the planet.
Because the material we use in our hammocks is what's known as "parachute nylon", and it shares a relationship with the same material used in actual parachutes, we suppose it's not completely crazy for people to ask whether the hammocks can also be used as mini-parachutes.
We've heard it asked enough times over the years for it to make its way onto this page right here. So here we go:
Just no. No. No. No. No.
Trek Light really does make the best parachute hammocks on the planet, but that is very different than making hammock parachutes.
Your Trek Light Hammock is NOT suitable for use as a parachute and we absolutely do not recommend it or encourage it, no matter how low or high off the ground you are.
Hear that Darwin?
