One Thousand Trees At A Time

by Seth Haber - Founder, CEO

I’ve been dying to share this with you, but it’s been a busy 2011 at Trek Light HQ so far!

This certificate is for you all:

That’s right, together we’ve already planted 1000 trees as part of the Buy A Hammock, Plant A Tree program that we launched last year!   And this is just one of many!

What’s amazing is that I’d be willing to bet that an overwhelming majority of the people who purchased these hammocks had no idea about the program or the impact their purchase had.  I haven’t yet had time to flesh out a marketing campaign for it and beyond that lone blog post we haven’t received any press or attention to the initiative.  If you’re reading this and you’re a blogger or in the media – please help me spread the word.

As the certificate says, these aren’t my donations, they belong to all of you.  If you bought a hammock, you planted a tree, but it’s much more than that.   If you setup your hammock in a public place where others might see it and decide to buy one, you’re planting the seeds that made these trees possible.  If you ‘Like’ something on ourFacebook page, send in a photo, retweet one of ourTwitter posts, wear one of our t-shirts or even just mention the words ‘Trek Light Gear’ to a friend, you’re planting these seeds.  The ripple effect you have is just as much a part of this certificate and you deserve the recognition.

The success of Trek Light Gear is now part of something larger - and it feels great.  This is only the beginning of what we can accomplish.

Thank you.
