One thing was clear right away, we had designed a product that would live up to its name - it seemed like everyone we showed it to found a different reason to love it.
Parents loved it as a mini hammock for their little ones, hunters and anglers loved it as a quick-setup chair, and hammock campers everywhere rejoiced.

Hammock Gear Loft: When set up over or under your hammock you've got a perfect place to store your pack, clip your water bottle, headlamp, etc. and keep all your gear within easy reach. When setup underneath our V9 Strong Tarp, you'll sleep soundly knowing your gear is dry and off the ground.
We've also heard they make great toy and stuffed animal lofts at home, but you can say it's for your 'gear' and we'll take your word for it.
Hammock Chair/Swing: While we think hammocks are great for sleeping in, there are a lot of times when you just need to get off the ground and sit comfortably. The VersaTrek is lighter and stronger than any camping chair and gets you off the ground comfortably.
Cook your food at the campsite, take a break while hunting, or just swing your troubles away on the front porch. The VersaTrek can be hung from a single overhead branch/post (just make sure it's strong enough to support your weight!).
Mini Hammock: The VersaTrek can technically be used as a lie-down hammock but with a comfort zone between 2.5ft - 3ft tall at most, it isn't going to fit most of you.

I slung my Versatrek between two doors in my apt as soon as I opened the package. I'm a little top heavy and 263lbs 6'2", so the Versatrek didn't work so well as a chair (I topple out of the back side). But let me tell you, when I laid in it there wasn't a single cry, creak, or groan form it at all. The fit and finish proves that the Versatrek is built as a hammock that can also stow your gear when on the trail. I love my Versatrek, Thank you Trek Light Gear!
