From the award-winning author of National Parks of the USA, this stunning book showcases an amazing adventure activity to try in every single state.
50 Adventures in the 50 States features gripping outdoors activities, vividly illustrated and described alongside fascinating facts about the nature and geography of each activity location – the very best the U.S.A. has to offer budding young adventurers!!
This beautiful hardcover book is to be pored over and treasured by aspiring adventurers – children or adults!
Walk on an active glacier in Alaska; climb the highest peak in the Northeast in New Hampshire; horseback ride through ancient canyons with a Navajo guide in Arizona and surf the iconic Venice Beach in California.
Each adventure is illustrated with a beautiful, poster-worthy image, with pull-out facts about how the adventure activity is accomplished and key information about the area’s natural and cultural highlights.
Activities range from the high-octane, such as windsurfing the Gulf Coast in Texas or canyoneering in Utah, to the magical and inspiring, such as soaking in natural hot springs in Idaho, stargazing from a train in Nevada, and witnessing the synchronous firefly displays in Georgia.
This book is about to take you on a whirlwind tour of the United States, from the mountains of Maine to the beaches of California, the volcanoes of Hawaii to the forests of Virginia!
You don’t need special skills or smarts to head out on an adventure, just a positive spirit and a readiness to try new things. Learn to climb up rocky pinnacles in Alabama, dig for beautiful crystals in Oklahoma, and collect your own wild plants for dinner in Oregon. If you have lots of energy, scramble through a slot canyon in Utah, climb a mountain in New Hampshire, or explore a glacier in Alaska. To cool off, glide down a natural stone waterslide in Pennsylvania!
The U.S.A. is full of wild places and great ways to explore them, but some of the coolest adventures are right in our biggest cities, from kayaking in Boston to birding in New York City. With an intrepid spirit, you can also have fun exploring your very own backyard and neighborhood parks, discovering the cool birds, mammals, and plants that live there. No foray is too small for a sense of discovery. What’s stopping you? Set forth and explore the big, wide, outdoor world both near and far in the 50 states!.

For every item sold, we work with Trees For The Future to plant a tree in your honor.
Why is that so powerful? By helping small farmers and villages around the world with the planting of fruit & vegetable trees, shade trees and more, together we're going beyond basic environmental change.
Trees For The Future uses a Forest Garden approach to reforestation - planting trees to not only provide environmental benefits, but also food, income, and community agriculture where it's needed most.
Every purchase creates a chain reaction of good and happiness in the world, and it all starts with you.
COVID-19 Update: Our warehouse is adopting safe social distance practices and taking all necessary measures to ship orders with the highest safety standards. These measures may result in longer fulfillment times than normal so we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our standard policy is still detailed below for your reference.
We know what it's like to order something online and want to have it in your hands as quickly as possible. We ask that you allow us 1 business day to process your order and get it ready to ship, however we do everything we can to get orders out the door as soon as they come in - which means most packages ship the very same day you order.
Our shipping takes place Monday through Friday - any orders placed over the weekend or after our mail pickup will be shipped the next business day whenever possible.
We offer the ability to pre-order and back order some items on our site when they are not yet in stock. If an item you are purchasing isn't currently in stock, you'll see a note displayed in your shopping cart that indicates the expected shipping time for your order.
Please note that the expected shipping time is an estimate based on when we expect to receive new inventory. Sometimes it takes us even longer than expected to receive inventory (especially with unpredictable COVID delays) and sometimes we receive inventory much sooner than the timeframe we estimate. Your order will always ship as soon as the inventory is in our hands!
We aren't able to split-ship your orders into multiple deliveries - so if you are ordering an item that isn't currently in stock along with other items that are, please be aware that your order won't ship until all items are in stock. If you're anxious to receive the in-stock items, we recommend placing separate orders so you can receive the in-stock items without delay.
If you choose an option like "Express (2 Business Days)", please remember that isn't a guarantee that the order will be there exactly two days from the moment you order it - we still need time to pack & ship your order (see above).
Please see our separate Carrier Info page with important details on which carriers we offer and how to make sure you get your package delivered properly.
When receiving an international order your package will need to pass through Customs in your country. All of our packages will have a Customs Declaration Form which details the items in your package and their value.
PLEASE NOTE: There are almost always additional charges to receive your package when you order from outside your own country - these charges are Customs Duties and Import Taxes which are your responsibility to pay (often before you are allowed to collect the package). The laws and taxes are different in every country and Trek Light Gear has no way of knowing in advance what these taxes and fees will be. Please be aware of this when placing your order, we don't want you to be surprised when the package shows up and you owe additional money!
If you have any additional questions about international shipping methods or rates just let us know!

Great hostess gift with travel items for the camper friend! It is more of a children style book, but love the whimsy in it.
This was a birthday gift for my adventurer daughter who turned 30. She loved it!
The graphics and retro colors are unique and a perfect companion for her Peace Blanket, which she adored.
Thanks so much for making her birthday special! :-)
For some reason I didn’t understand that I’d purchase a pretty book for around a 6 year old. However, since I gifted it to a kindergarten teacher... guess it’ll work out!
